Asa

Asa or Asons are 'spirit-beings'.

The Asa Seniores are seven spirit-beings who are considered the most important to pay attention to.

The Asa Prosopa are a different list of seven divine personalities.

Asa Seniores (or 'Cosmic Family')

The Asa Seniores consists of the Cosmic Mother, the Cosmic Father and their children. The five most important of their children are Aristus, Chrestus , Azidus, Spentaman and Angraman.

The Cosmic Mother is a being who produces the conditions for life to grow, sustain itself, heal and flourish. The Cosmic Mother is known to us as Anhita.

The Cosmic Father is a being who governs the actions of different lesser beings (including natural beings such as people) in order to produce an overall good result - the common flourishing. The Cosmic Father is known to us as Mithras.

Anthropus Aristus is 'Man at his Best' in the sense of Man at the limit of his potential powers.

Chrestus is a being of unselfish service to mankind and the living world. Chrestus has renounced his natural human desires to be a perfect agent of the cosmic father.

Azidus is a being driven by lust, especially a lust for power and who is blind to the consequences of his actions on others except as to how they might rebound on him. He is the opponent of Chrestus.

Spentaman is the 'Holy Spirit' or 'Life-increasing Spirit' is the being that changes minds, by bringing wisdom, changing values, developing the abilities of the mind and enlivening the life-loving energies of the soul.

Angraman is the deceitful one who leads astray. He is the opponent of Spentaman.

N.B. Anthropus Aristus matches Heathen ideals of the best kind of man, while Chrestus matches Christian ideals. Azidus is similar to the Anti-Christ and Angraman is similar to Satan or the Devil as known in Christian tradition.

Asa Prosopa

The Asa Prosopa Yazata are seven spirit-personalities that are considered worthy of attention. They are similar to the traditional concept of Archangels. They are Mithras, Anhita, Sarus, Perkun, Venus, Tekton and Vatis.
